Red Clay Cottage Sea Glass Cottage Sandy Rose Cottage

Red Clay, Sea Glass and Sandy Rose cottages are located in the quiet coastal community of Wood Islands on the southeast tip of Prince Edward Island. Just a short walk from each of the cottages is a spectacular view of the Northumberland Strait, a beautiful white sand beach and one of the best swimming areas in P.E.I.

Wood Islands is a hub of activity throughout the summer. The cottages are just minutes from:

  • Wood Islands car ferry terminal and wharf, which has a restaurant, craft shops, and where fresh lobster and seafood are sold.
  • 'Plough the Waves'  Visitor's Centre houses a variety of handcraft shops, a wine/liquor/beer store, and a visitor information centre.
  • The nearby villages of Murray River and Murray Harbour have banking, a bakery, gas stations, restaurants, a grocery/hardware store, seal watching cruises, seaplane tours, and several handcraft shops.

    		There are numerous events, activities, and attractions in Wood Islands and nearby communities:

    • Eagles View Golf Club - Murray River. One of the Island's newest 9-hole golf courses.
    • Rossignol Estate Winery - Little Sands. A wide variety of grape and fruit wines, as well as a gallery featuring the work of local artists.
    • Tartan Air - Murray River. Seaplane Air Tours and Charters
    • Confederation Trail System - Discover the Island's natural beauty at a slower pace.
    • Seal Cruises - Murray River.
    • Cruise Manada Seal Watching Tours - Montague.
    • Murray Harbour Ceilidhs - held every two weeks throughout the summer.
    • Cape Bear Lighthouse Museum - Cape Bear.
    • Northumberland Fisheries Festival - Murray River. Celebrating the livelihood of the area on the last weekend of July, featuring carnival rides, dory races, a lobster supper, scallop-shucking contests, local talent, and the Miss Northumberland pageant.

    Rentals are normally done on a Saturday to Saturday basis with check-in after 3 p.m. and checkout by 11 a.m. A deposit in the amount of $100 is due upon booking. Rental fees are subject to a 10% provincial sales tax.
